1. Length

3. History

Focus on your recent history and summarize the older information. Only keep the basics of older information. 

4. References

Review the advertisement, go through the candidate requirements.  Does your resume enable you to tick the box of each requirement?  It should.  For instance, if a recruiter is looking for a candidate with 5 years of experience in the specified industry, make sure you have stated how many years of experience you have.  If a recruiter is looking for a candidate proficient with NetSuite, make sure you state that exactly on your resume.  Most importantly, use key words from the advertisement and do not be afraid to use the exact words in your resume.  These are the qualities they are looking for, so show them if you have it.

Do not be afraid to think outside the box.

Stand out!  Feel free to throw in some curveballs that you think would give you an advantage over the competition.  What is your unique selling point?   Did you win an award or add significant value in any way?
